Reflexology
Reflexology has been around for years and is known as zone therapy. It is a complimentary and holistic therapy that works through the application of a focused treatment on the feet and/or hands encouraging the body to heal itself. Although the most underestimated part of the body is the foot, it has over 7,200 nerve endings or reflex points. A vital map of the body as these nerves can be traced to every structure and function of the body; hence, the feet mirror the body. A total gateway to total body health! Doctors agree that 75% of our health can be linked to nervous stress and tension. Reflexology aims to reduce stress, increase deep relaxation, improve circulation, cleanse body of toxins, balance the whole system and increase energy.
Aloha Mana Lomi Lomi Massage (Hawaiian Shamanic Bodywork)
For centuries the ancient art of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage has been used as a powerful tool for maintaining a healthy way of life. The strokes are long, wave-like, and flowing, using forearms and elbows, and giving the feeling of many hands on the body at once. This massage is especially good for reducing stress, increasing circulation, helps speed up recovery from illness, and it is incredibly relaxing and powerfully detoxifying. The nurturing touch allows the receiver to connect and harmonize the mind, body and spirit, restoring balance and health. Lomi Lomi Massage cleanses the muscle toxins that build up as a result of stressful living. Receiving a massage regularly can help you to maintain a healthy balanced life in the accelerated pace of today’s world.
Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low or stagnant, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high and flowing, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
A.R.T
ART is one of the most innovative and effective available for sport injuries, soft tissue and overuse injuries. Repetitive stress, surgery and trauma can cause build up of scar tissue and adhesions within soft tissue. These adhesions hinder movement and function and cause symptoms of pain, numbness and decreased range of motion. ART is a non invasive treatment method that eliminates adhesions within the soft tissue to improve range of motion. It is a direct hands on treatment that uses tension and movement to return tissue to its correct texture and function.
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy is a hands on therapy which helps to restore optimal muscle function, increase range of motion and reduce pain. Those that suffer from muscle tension, reduced circulation or restricted movement can benefit from massage therapy. We offer therapeutic, sport and deep tissue and relaxation massage therapy.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine involving the insertion of solid filiform acupuncture needles into the skin at specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect. Acupuncture is used to encourage natural healing, improve mood and energy, reduce or relieve pain and improve function of affected areas of the body. It is safe and effective and is often successfully used as an alternative to medications or even surgery. Relief is often obtained with acupuncture when traditional medical therapy has failed. Acupuncture points are places on the skin that have a lower resistance to the passage of electricity than the surrounding skin and are part of a network of points that were mapped centuries ago by the Chinese. Most are found along ‘meridians’ or ‘channels’ that are believed to be the pathways by which energy or Qi (pronounced ‘Chee’) flows through the body.
