I’M WITH THE BAND WAGON

In a time of fair weather fans, and fitness fumbles; the bandwagon is a vehicle many of us have taken a ride on in our quest to better health. What also rings true is our tendency to remain on the sidelines when the wellness bus heads our way because of our fear of falling off again. We remain there looking for the new solution that will keep us from repeating our previous tendencies of starting and stopping. Often letting our training partners, our trainers and most importantly ourselves down in the process. The bandwagon seems to be fueled by guilt, and self-doubt; and has turned into an excuse in itself not begin a fitness regime.

So instead of spurting out all the benefits of fitness, like lowered risk for heart disease, increased metabolism, more energy, less fat, healthier bones, and a general increase in everyday glee, I’ll just say, make the choice that feels right to you. Whether or not you find yourself in a gym, in a pool, on a walk, or taking the stairs, you owe it to yourself to feel great, and be the best you can be.

What is often overlooked, and under appreciated is our tenacity to get on the wagon, to motivate ourselves to try and try again. Though the industry of fitness often frowns upon the inconsistency of many of its patrons, we must remember that now and then, is always better than never! So if you see that band wagon coming your way, jump on, but this time make sure you enjoy the ride; and, if by chance you fall off again, it’ll be back tomorrow to pick you right up, baggage and all!
